Back in October, I had the privilege of presenting at BeerCon3. Not a beer festival (although it could be), but a community-based cybersecurity conference run by some of the most generous people in the industry.
What's an editor doing speaking at a security event? Well, I'm an editor and proofreader now but I'm also an experienced information security consultant and security risk manager. Throughout my thirteen-year career as a security professional, my primary role was that of writer and translator, developing clear lines of communication between my technical colleagues and their counterparts within the business. A communicator and go-between.
One way to go about that – through the use of plain language – is the subject of the talk I shared at BeerCon3: Write me some KISSes.
Thanks again to BeerCon3 and The Beer Farmers for a fantastic event. You can check out the other BeerCon3 talks, all available on YouTube.
